• An attractive smile fills you with confidence and a sense of well-being.

The first stage is to have healthy teeth and gums, after which there are a number of techniques involving little or no drilling which can enhance your smile.

Tooth whitening (also known as bleaching) is a method in which a gel is applied to the teeth which lightens them as much or as little as you like. It requires no drilling or injections, and is very safe, having been in use for many years. Research suggests that in-surgery whitening offers little benefit over home whitening, while costing significantly more. For this reason, we only offer the at-home method. The cost is £300 for upper and lower teeth.

Amalgam replacement may be carried out to improve appearance or because of worries about the safety of the mercury in the amalgams. In either case, we offer the option of carrying out the treatment using a rubber dam which helps to prevent you swallowing any of the amalgam dust produced during removal. In addition, we use techniques which minimise the risk of inadvertently removing any healthy tooth structure, so that the procedure does not lead to any collateral damage. The cost varies, but is usually between £150-£250 per tooth.

Bonded composite fillings and veneers: Front teeth which are chipped or slightly out of position can often be very much improved using bonded composite fillings and veneers. These materials look natural and have the advantages of requiring little or no drilling, and being very cost-effective. Prices depend on a number of factors, so please ask us for an individual price quotation.

Porcelain veneers and crowns are needed in some situations. Once again, ask us for an individual price quotation.

Missing teeth can be replaced in a number of ways. The method we favour where possible is a Bonded Maryland Bridge. This has the advantages of not requiring any drilling and being fixed in place, while being significantly cheaper than an implant. A typical single-tooth bridge costs £750.
